OMG did Marokai just game the system for political gain, shame on him for using Hamiltonian style tactics just to gain political advantage.

To be candid, had I known that the once tied result in the Pacific would have brought upon this call for reform, perhaps I would have kept my mouth shut. Smiley

I opposed the amendment either way because it won't actually solve anything - a band-aid that does not address the issue at hand: regional senate representation.  Until that is removed, strategic registrations will continue to be a problem.

This is why I will oppose attempts at "reform".

Eh, if I'd felt that getting this to fail would win the relevant votes to abolish regional senate seats, I might have tried the same thing.
As long as I can't have stitches, I prefer a band-aid to no band-aid, ye know?

It is very much anti-n00b, and anti-every-Atlasian, at that.  People will always find ways to game the system; this amendment could only damage those who legitimately wish to transfer between states.

Everyone keeps making the argument that people will "find a way" to game the system. Anyone care to explain how? You can only move every so often. Period. How do you strategically register like that? This isn't the financial industry. There aren't isn't constant innovation in how to change residencies in Atlasia. Suffice to say, this doesn't seem like a very compelling argument.

Remind me why we first introduced a rule against unlimited moves, and then amended it from four months to two which was basically the same thing as abolishing it.

It won't completely eliminate strategic registration, but it will make it more difficult.

We can always get rid of it in the future if we decide we don't like it! Tongue

True we can always repeal it if it doesn't have the desired results.
