[note, "Pope" in this thread is NOT meant to be taken religiously, so I don't mean to offend Catholics...I just watched the movie "The Pope of Greenwich Village"...so the "Pope" in this thread simply refers to "Who's the Boss"]

since I've been called an attention whore (not denying it, mind you) - I might was well create the ultimate attention whore thread by asking:  Who rules this forum?

So....who do you nominate?

I might as nominate myself: jmfcst

No, no, no.  It's King of the Bench Press.  He just rules from afar.

yeah, I thought about using you as an example, but I don't think you believe a lot of what you say.

You're wrong there - my preferences and observations are as stated.

let's just say your acceptance of being a freeloader runs contrary to the personality of someone who is the "Pope of the Village”…it’s like Charles Manson trying to prove he’s crazy by tattooing a swastika between his eyes.  I may agree with Charles that he is crazy, but that doesn’t mean I think he’s really enjoying his insanity.  So, although Charles may lead a group of followers, and in this way is a kind of “Pope” of his village,  those same followers are usually kept behind bars.

(I know Manson is an extreme analogy, I was just too lazy to find a more appropriate one.  I wasn’t trying to equate you with Charles)

I do, however, listen to you when it comes to cars.  In that arena, I think you have very legitimate opinions and much knowledge to offer, and even if I don’t agree with you, I can see where you are coming from.  I dig.

No Popes around? I can be one.

So:

Anyone, who's reading GPORTER timelines, shall be burnt to death

Anyone who's making retarded celebrity election matchups, shall be garroted

Anyone, who's asking stupid questions like who's the Pope here, shall be impaled

But the forum pope needs a foil...who is his Patriarch of Constantinople, his Jan Huss, his Martin Luther, his John Calvin, his Henry VIII...his illuminati?
