Pawlenty
Romney
Thune
Cantor???
Rubio (If Senator)

...Huckabee's friends are too much like him, he needs someone that's different like a Romney. A Romney-Huckabee ticket brings in a whole lot more of the party and voters can identify themselves with them over Huckabee-(Palin/Insert Southern Political Name)

Huckabee/Thune would be a disaster. Now Huckabee/Rell may be a good ticket?

Romney won't be anyone's running mate in 2012 and especially not Huckabee's. The reason is simple - he will be  too old to run for President again in 2020 and I don't see him as someone who would do the VP thing without future ambitions like Cheney and Biden.

Huckabee/Thune would be a disaster. Now Huckabee/Rell may be a good ticket?

I agree that Huckabee/Thune is too country and too evangelical. But you can probably forget Huckabee/Rell too. Governor/Governor tickets almost never happen, and Jodi Rell will be 66 in 2012 and doesn't have a college degree which could look embarassing since Huck is not really a rocket scientist himself. That's even without mentioning the abortion.

Rell wouldn't work. Our families are friends. She'd be like Palin if McCain was Huckabee. Not that I'm saying she looks (can look) dumb on television, but that's she's herself. She's independent, she's on her own, she's not someone that will agree with Huckabee and many things or will move more to the middle or right on any issues.

It would balance the ticket though and I'd like to visit the White House again.

It would be a risk, but then we wouldn't here that the Republicans are same ole same old white fat (less fat then normal) southern Christian conservatives.

Didn't know about Rell, thought she had no baggage like that.

Maybe a Huck/Norris ticket?

Jesus Christ, obviously. He needs someone to shore up his socialist credentials.

Or, as John McEnroe said,

"You can't be serious!"

The only imaginable swing states on which Oklahoma borders are Colorado, Missouri and New Mexico.  The borders between Oklahoma and both Missouri and New Mexico are half a degree of latitude. He would probably lose moderate Missouri, and the parts of Colorado and New Mexico that border Oklahoma are thinly-populated.  Coburn would disintegrate any conception that Huckabee is a moderate in any way, shape, or form.

It's easy to look at the state map and notice that Oklahoma borders Colorado, Missouri, and New Mexico. The only Missouri cities of appreciable size near the Oklahoma border are Joplin and Springfield. The parts of Colorado and New Mexico that border Oklahoma have more rattlesnakes than people.

A less conservative Republican like Collins, Ridge, or Lingle.
