There are no death panels.  It's a crazy rumor propagated by people who believe anonymous emails.  Such things would be HP, nonetheless.

They sound HP, but what represents the "death panels" in real life is a major service which many doctors are pleased to see get more attention.

Whoever first thought up the "death panel" thing needs to put down Logan's Run and The Children of Men.

FF for what they actually would do, which is not even remotely close to what the phrase "death panels" implies.

To some extent I actually agree with you. Hospitals waste a lot of resources on people that are already terminal or in the last couple weeks of life. If we diverted those to other people we'd all be better off... That's something my dad is increasingly frustrated with, actually.

Ultimately every person should have a medical directive on file.  We could save a lot of money letting those go that don't want extraordinary treatment but maybe didn't really indicate that before hand.

That would help. But a lot of it is the unreasonable expectations (lucid) patients and their families have too. Because of various reasons it's a lot harder to bring people back to reality now on these issues, they think medicine can solve everything if you just spend enough money.

HP when they were backed by Republicans?  If so, a doff of the cap to you for consistency anyway.

If you're talking about the two pictures that were there before (I'm sure you are), sorry about that. I didn't realize how big those pictures were going to be until after they showed up. I should've have fixed them earlier. Better late than never, I guess.
If you're talking about the first picture (I'm pretty sure you're not)...just stating a fact! lol Smiley
