My dad is one of those 4.4 million who will lose there Unemployment this September. He has been collecting benefits continously since last October, and he collected them for 4 weeks in last July till he got a short lived job at nearby garage.
We need another extention to carry these people through next January at least. Long term we have got to Nationalise our Unemployement system, standardize it and get rid of these stupid F**king waiting weeks. The bills don't wait damn it, so why should the Unemployement. Continuity of benefits should be a primary concern in the system and its not, you can go months and not know whether you will get them or not. What do you tell your landlord, "Oh would you please wait till next month when I MIGHT have check coming". Un f**king real, I'll tell you. You should be able to check within a week of filling for the first time to see whether you have been approved or not using a wonderful invention, ITS CALLED THE INTERNET, and for those without internet, they should be able to call.
Forgive my temper but these changes are just so f**king simple and common sense it just boggles my mind why these changes haven't already been made.
