Most people on Chris Matthew's panel is giving the debate to Cheney.

Everyone on CNN seems to be calling it a draw.

But here's what Andrew Sullivan just posted:

IN BRIEF: Boy was I ever wrong. If last Thursday night's debate was an assisted suicide for president Bush, this debate - just concluded - was a car wreck. And Cheney was road-kill. There were times when it was so overwhelming a debate victory for Edwards that I had to look away. I have to do C-SPAN now, but stay tuned for more post-debate blogging in a little while.

Wow.
So is Sullivan an idiot, incredibly biased, or on the take from Terry?

This is strange...Andrew Sullivan was just on CSPAN, and he claimed that everyone in the room with him (a group of undergrad students) agreed that this was "The most embarrassing oblideration of a presidential candidate they'd ever seen"....referring to Cheney being defeated by Edwards.

Maybe he was watching the Twins beat the Yankees. Or maybe he's on E. Or both.

In any case, Edwards was terrible. He was supposed to be super-smooth... he repeated himself, slurred his speech often, and rarely used effective language (except a couple isolated cases).

Apparently he does not just drink the kool-aid, he mixes it up and serves it to others.

Edwards repeated arguments a minute after Cheney had finished ripping them to shreds.  Edwards got flustered and interrupted Cheney, he argued with Iffil about whose turn it was and then smugly said, "did you just figure out you were wrong?"  Finally he completely fumbled the "describe yourself" question ("John Kerry showed on Thursday...Whoops!...We showed on Thursday"--its not we if Edwards wasn't there!)  and his closing statement failed to address the core issue of the race.  How was this good?

Cheney made Edwards look like an over-ambitious little pipsqueak.
