i happen to think paulson would be anexcellent president in good or certainly in bad economic times.

Paulson has shown no desire to serve in elected office, isn't well liked by his party, doesn't have a record on anything besides economic matters and climate change, doesn't have any sort of following...

speaking as a republican-in-exile, id be damn happy if the gop were to nominate someone who  1. isnt a nutter, 2. is *competent* and most importantly 3. wont be a sectional candidate.

I think Walter fails to realize that anyone he likes is not going to run because of a post he made on a message board, making the entire discussion of a campaign by people like him or Ehlrich who WILL NOT RUN completely moot (granted one could pretty much say the same for "Santorum or the nutter in South Carolina.")
