I know tensions are running high and things are a little chaotic with the elections coming up. People are afraid of the elections not turning out well, the absentee voting booth situation is up in the air at the moment, we have a Constitutional Convention coming up soon, and in the past few months Atlasia's been through a great deal (such as the Xahar/Ben debacle), none of it good.

I'm not here speaking to you as a partisan SDP member, and I'm not even really here speaking to you as Chairman of the SDP. I'm speaking to you as Herbie, my real self, and what I have to say is this: We have to stop so much partisan wrangling, so much attacking, so much deception & plotting, all the fighting & chaos, it has to come to an end, and we have to start working together for everyone's benefit, and not just ourselves.

What in heaven's name is this place coming to? There's so much partisanship, so much bickering, so much espionage, it's almost unbearable. Everyone, we must remember this is a game, we are human beings, with real feelings (and after some of the things here, real headaches) and we need to start treating everyone better. For goodness sake, we're supposed to be having fun here, isn't that what's its all about?

I'm not speaking to anyone in general, but over the course of my running for Chair (and my subsequent election) I've been barraged with information I never thought I'd know, and threatened from a certain individual on multiple occasions. I fear for my account's security, I fear for my party's very existence, because of these subversive elements. I'm not here to bash anyone, but for everyone to understand what prompted this it must be said, and there's many things that I'm not even mentioning here (You can ask my RPP friends about that). I, an 18 year old posting on a political forum in the Fantasy Politics section, shouldn't have to deal with such things. It's not necessary for this.

We're all adults, or at least most of us are, in mentality if not body. We can do better than this, and create an environment where we can all have fun here and with one another. I enjoy a tongue-in-cheek partisan wrangling, a little role-playing here and there, but I don't want to be stressed out from something so trivial.

There are a lot of things killing Atlasia, low activity, chiefly among them. But this drop in activity isn't just due to the complicated system of voting, inaccurate information that's difficult to access, or a lack of basic things to do, but the excessive fighting that's gone on between party and party. So many rivalries have been born here that shouldn't have, and it can really turn people off from this place.

So in these elections and in the upcoming Constitutional Convention, let's remember we're all real people, who are in this for a fun time, a little bit of playing a character, trying out what it's like to operate under something so serious in a lighthearted environment. But let's try to make the game better for everyone involved for once, let's not try to get famous on our own, let's not try to cram our suggestions down anyone's throat, and certainly let's not threaten one another for goodness sake.

SDP, DA, RPP, JCP, and everyone else, let's get along, at least for a little while, alright? Smiley

The mods know. I don't want to make too much of a deal about it though, I just want the rest of us to make sure this type of behavior doesn't spread, and wanted everyone to know where I'm coming from.
