Of course. You guys are on your way to 65 or 70 Senate seats in 2010. 2012? Well, the GOP won't even exist anymore!

I can't wait for the day when you guys get absolutely demolished in an election like we did in 2006 and 2008. I don't know if we'll still be here on the forum but I can just imagine the absolute shock.

You'd think you'd learn your lesson from us. You'd think that you'd try not to be as arrogant.

If there is to be  such an election, then it won't be until at least 2018, so far as I can tell. But until then you in the GOP might as well learn where the political center lies. Don't try converting people to your political beliefs; it doesn't work unless it has force behind it, as in a Commie re-education camp of the sort that operated in Vietnam after 1975.

The GOP threw away the political center in favor of getting money from tycoons and executives and lemming votes from the Religious Right -- and look at where that has gotten the GOP?

Well, the Democratic and Republican parties are not going to last FOREVER.  You never know when you might be witnessing the beginning of the end.

As to what I actually think?  No.  The Democrats will have their asses handed to them within the next decade.

The Dems will end up getting destroyed eventually (although it'll be after we've got to 60 seats), the same as the Repubs got destroyed in 2006/2008. It's a cycle, it's how politics works the world over.

Some poster from Missouri, I think his name is James, would say no.

I agree with him.  The pendulum will eventually swing back to the right.

No, but on the other hand, hopefully 2008 shows people that not every election is going to be like 2000/2004 where it's basically 50/50 forever.
