One of the problems which causes confusion for people is that different folks have a different perception of what constitutes a moderate, a mainstream liberal/conservative, or even at the far end of the scales.

So what I want to ask is how people would fill in 5 (or 7) fields as to their political continum.  I ask that curent presidential and vice presidential candidates be left off the list or else many of the partisans will be calling their guy a moderate and the other guy an extremist.

The main list:
Far Left -
Mainstream liberal -
Moderate/centrist -
Mainstream conservative -
Far right -

I add two other categories for people who fall outside of typical clasification, or 'oddballs'.

Most interesting 'oddball' -
Most annoying 'oddball' -

My list:
Far left - Barbara Boxer
Mainstream liberal - Dianne Feinstein
Moderate/Centrist - Bill Clinton
Mainstream conservative -  John McCain
Far Right - Rick Sanatorium

Most interesting 'oddball' - Ariana Huffington
Most annoying 'oddball' - Ralph Nader

(I would have also put GHWB under moderate/centrist, but I wanted to keep it to one person per line)

What do you mean by this? Name your favorite for each category?

The one-dimensional comparison has been outdated for two centuries... I think that it should be more of a four-dimensional combination: Economic, Social, Political, and Foreign Policy issues.

Once again, how am I far right? I find myself always asking this question and I never get an answer (or sometimes I'll get an answer like "being against abortion except in the extreme cases of rape or the life of the mother is extreme right")

Campbell is not a mainstream conservative and Ted Kennedy is further to the left of the mainstream liberal title.

And for the 50 millionth time, name a view that I hold that is far right. I love it when you can't answer these simple questions.
