ive spent my life as a republican or an independent leaning republican, but this past election i voted a straight democrat ticket.  obama for president, kerry for senate, markey for rep and deocrat for state senate and house.

first time in my life that i voted a straight ticket and it was for the 'other party'

Fight to take back the Republican Party. You never should have reached out to the South or welcome in Southerners in the first place. Southerners believe in big government, Republicans aren't supposed to. So please fight, fight against the right, give the moderates control of the GOP because if you do that, the GOP will quickly see all of its gains since 1994 in the South eroded as we return to the class based voting that characterized elections in the region until that year

Well, they're certainly not pragmatic, most of the time, it seems.

It's pretty hard to not vote a straight ticket in Madison County, IL.
