First of all, I hope the citizens of our region are safe and sound right now. These times can be very scary for the faint of heart.

As many of you can see, Atlas has been thrown into complete chaos as of a few hours ago. Some rebel leaders known as Keystone Phil and Mike Naso have returned from the 1980s to torment and attack our great region with big hair, bad music, and shiny suits. It has shown that the current leaders in place cannot keep this nation safe from terrorists. It's no surprise that this happens only moments after the Senate confirmed Xahar the Attorney General, a move which I and my colleagues in the Dirty South warned against. Now, we are a mess. I am here to announce that the Dirty South will again declare independence from the nation of Atlasia on the grounds that it is no longer safe for us to remain. This will allow us to field an army to keep the rebels out. We do wish to rejoin the union once this whole episode is over, and, hopefully, Xahar is removed from office. I want to work and do what I can to help better this nation, whether it means being under the current administration or the rebel leaders.
