1)  Liberal hatred of Bush will ensure Bush victory
2)  Liberals aren't nearly as smart as they lead themselves to believe

This just reinforced the idea that people don't care about the real issues in this election.  If this were really "the most important election in a generation" all this stuff from 30 years ago wouldn't have been the top story of the last two months.

So maybe John Kerry should have stopped using Vietnam, Vietnam, Vietnam is his commercials, speechs, rallies, etc. The Dems say they really want to focus on the issues when really they brought all this up.

Yes, the Dems would be much better off with a candidate who can articulate a strong stand on modern, relevant issues.   But it's not as though Bush has been in any great rush to engage in meaningful debate on our various domestic crises.

Several things. Preface: the race is not over and anything can still happen. One: liberals seem to be trying to wish away a problem that has backfired on them. When people were running around saying Bush was AWOL and that he betrayed his country and his approval was dipping into the mid 40s, it was all well fine as that comprised many of "the issues." Well, so does it now that it has backfired. This is "an issue." Second: for as important as Democrats said this election would be, they made an awful, awful hasty and fast decision in their selection of John Kerry. As I said in the preface, though, it's not over, but Kerry really is running one terrible campaign. Dole did better than this. For Kerry to win now the ABB feeling would have to re-emerge on a very large and very broad scale, IMO, and he would have to completely dominate the debates.

You mean, like Kerry's 20-year Senate voting record.
