No way.  I'd support him, though.

I assume the war will not be a major issue by 2012; if it is, then I'd likely still go for Obama.

This could be an interesting alt-history, but that's about it.

A part from endorsing Senator McCain for President in 2008, sponsoring the legislation which authorized the United States to go to "war" with then Saddam Hussein's Iraq in 2002, Senator Lieberman you wouldn't believe is quite liberal on a vast majority of matters, on such issues like abortion, gun control, same sex marriage, etc. Did I also mention he votes with the Democratic Party at least nine times out of ten?

Thus, I believe if he ever switched his allegiance from the Democratic caucus to the Republican caucus, when the 111th Congress convenes on the sixth of January next year, and for some bizarre reason decided to run for the 2012 Republican nomination, he, like potential candidate, the moderate Senator Collins of Maine would get mawled alive.

I would love to see it happen. He would get murdered at the top of the Republican ticket.

If that happens then the Republican Party really is dead. The CP and LP might win some congressional elections sooner rather than later. The only thing he agrees with the party on is the main issue that lost 2006 and 2008 for the Republicans. Obviously it was enough to get him a speaking slot at their convention though.

Exactly.  If he got the GOP nomination, a more credible Republican would run under the LP, CP, or some new "Conservative Party" and win more votes than him.   Maybe that would be a good thing, as the GOP has become so polluted in recent years.

That'd be nice if were Huckabee, then I would vote 3rd party.

I think you'd vote for Huckabee if he ran under the Islamic Wahabbism Party.  Tongue j/k

Lol, I know that'd never happen. Maybe The Christian People's Party, but not an Islamic Party.
