I got a few but I have thought of one that sticks out in my mind but I don;t no if he woukld run.

Fmr. State Senator Fred Smith(R-NC) for NC-02. I know he would be going up against an entrenched incumbent But he could definately give Bob Etheridge(D-NC) a run for his money.

Another candidate I have heard mention is Mayor Robert Young of Augusta for GA-12. I am however having a hard time finding any solid info on him or his accomplishments as mayor.

I got a great one
Fmr President George W. Bush for TX-17. Just Kidding, I think he is looking forward to his ranch and would like to stay there.

I assume Paul Fong will be running in CA-15 if and when Mike Honda steps down.

We need to find a new candidate in WA-08. I'm not quite sure who though.

I think Reichert has WA-08 as long as he wants it now.

Shirley Franklin for GA-05 when John Lewis retires.

Presumably Wayne Gilchrest wouldn't run against Kratovil in MD-01 after he endorsed him, but it would be great to see his return to Congress.

I know it's very early, but are there any announced retirements (say, by self-imposed term limits) or convictions yet?

It looks as if Mike Castle wants to run for Joe Biden's Senate seat in 2010.  Im sure Democrats have several candidates waiting in the wings to take DE-AL.

In MN-03 Ash Madia seemed to hint he was going to run again; as I couldn't imagine him in local or state politics, the only position he could be talking about would be a rematch in 2010.

Mike Castle - Beau Biden would be an interesting race.  A smart old fart against a smart young kid with two years under his belt (assuming Beau is the next Senator).

Where is this coming from? Castle is 69 years old and has had health problems. I think it's more likely he retires in 2010 than runs for Senate.

Here's a question: which 2008 losers will run again?

Were there any House members who ran for higher office and lost and their House seats flipped? The only ones I can think of are Wilson and Pearce in NM.

If 2010 is a better year for the Republicans, Pearce might actually be able to win back his seat.

He would look pretty bad trying to do that.  After you give up your seat to run for a higher office, you often look like you thought you were too good for the people you represented.  This is what happened to Scotty Baesler in 2000 and to a lessor extent, Anne Northup in 2008.

Pearce was an awesome congressman, who ran an abysmal senate campaign.  I really hope he wins his seat back.

Yes, please.  That would mean the same candidates every election in this district's current incarnation.

Wish-list:

NE-02.  Had he run this year, he'd likely have won.
