Yesterday our party in Ceredigion had an executive meeting which was attended by the lead Lib Dem candidate for the Welsh region at the Euros and he told us something very interesting indeed. The 2009 Euros will be declared by regions and calculated by constituency.
This will be the second election calculated on a constituency basis (the first being 1999 and 2004's results being calculated on the council level), this being the case we are now faced with the question of "which constituencies"
For our friends in Scotland it's not too much of a problem. All they need to do is convert the 2004 Scottish results into the new constituencies (which given the work that has been done aleady shouldn't be too much of a problem, all I ask is that the data is published along with map), however for England and Wales we have a distinct problem (as the 2004 results were done on the council level and the 1999 results although on constituencies are out of date). So therefore would people agree with the following theory:
