I was actually thinking about attending Hofstra, but why pay the same to commute to a school as I could have to dorm at one (which I did at Stony Brook)  not to mention academically Stony Brook is better than Hofstra.

I once had someone work for me who went to Hofstra.  She was a total numbskull.  But I know another guy who went to Hofstra who's competent, though he's not very ambitious.

What did you do when you worked for a mortgage company?

I was a loan officer for a broker.  When a client was looking to refinance I would try to find the best program and bank for them (we worked with over 30 banks) based off their credit, financial needs etc.  Also could have done loans for home purchases, but as a broker upwards of 90% of our loans are refinances.  Had a purchase loan I was working on, but I left before the buyer found a house.

It was a straigh commission job, and their is potential to make lots of $$$, but their is also potential to make very little, and most people who get into it are in the very little category.  Last year a few months after I had to start paying my college loan back, I decided to leave.  I didn't do horrible, but didn't do well enough to stay in it, especially as I had more financial obligations and the industry itself was slowing down.  For awhile tried to get a job with a company that paid salary  Commission, but couldn't find one, as those spots pretty much all go towards those with several years experience, I did it for just shy of a year.

I know what you mean about those commission-only jobs.

I've used mortgage brokers for most of my real estate transactions.  The cost is minimal, and I felt that they really added value.

I'll give some thought to what might be a good career option for you.  If you want to talk me, just PM me.

I once had a sneezing fit for four hours.

My friend Andrew and I spent about a week terrorising a girl called Isabelle, by chasing her into the toilets and then standing in the courtyard outside to make sure she couldn't leave.

I almost drowned in my grandparent's pool at christmas when I was 11.

I've never left the southern hemisphere.

Three years ago I sold a painting for $230 but haven't painted any since.

Yes During my sophomore year, I was seriously considering becoming a Republican. However, people like Ben Nelson, Gene Taylor, Claire McCaskill, Blanche Lincoln, Evan Bayh and Bill Richardon made me decide to stay in the Democratic Party. Plus I do not like some of the social extremism and economic GOP Platform. And besides MO and AR democrats are nothing like, Massachusetts or NJ Democrats.

One of these things just doesn't belong here.....

AkSaber, Holy $#!t, you were 0-5!!!

Just to make things clear.....

1. I resigned from the Republican club because I refused to endorce the club's candidate for Student Government. He was a women beater and he was running against a personal friend of me that was somewhat liberal but honest.

2. I didn't even play football in highschool.

3. My wife is a socialist - enough said. I married her because she's a good cook! Smiley

4. I met Senator McCain in October 2000 while he was campaining for Peter Abair (for Congressman - got his @$$ beaten).  Anyhow, when Mr. Abair knew me and brought me to the front to shake hands with McCain. It was pouring and McCain lowered his umbrella towards me and it poked me in the eye. I was okay and McCain apoligized thought I told him "no worries."

5. Don't have one and don't want one. I have a bronze star with an oak leaf cluster for my two tours.

I'm going to see if I can get more answers:

I once got into a fight with my mom for putting a bumper sticker for a Republican candidate on the car without her permission.

I gave a kid a black eye in middle school.

I have never worn a tie in my life.

My freshman year my roommate puked on my bed.

I own a rap CD.

I once punched a kid for wearing an Abercrombie and Fitch shirt at a punk show.

I once gave a jmfcst-esque lecture to a Muslim student.
