I'll start with some useless statistics:

You flatter yourself. Our presidential elections have gone from having 105 votes to a mere 43.   And I'm fairly certain that had I not challenged you that number would have dropped into the thirties, and I don't think you even cared.

Feb 04 - 33 votes
June 04 - 62 votes
Oct 04 - 85 votes
Feb 05 - 108 votes
June 05 - 107 votes
Oct 05 - 82 votes
Feb 06 - 83 votes
June 06 - 75 votes
Oct 06 - 50 votes
Feb 07 - 60 votes
June 07 - 73 votes
Oct 07 - 53 votes
Feb 08 - 58 votes
June 08 - 49 votes

Note how the decline largely happened in three big drops. I think I can explain the latter two. Smiley

The second occurs roughly as the sh!t hit the fan regarding the old GM system, and many of the people who'd maneuvered it there found themselves new playthings as a result.

The third is, of course, Colin's de-facto uncontested reelection.

Not sure about the first, except that overall site traffic declined during much of 2005 and there just weren't all that many new posters to recruit.

I assume we can offer any commentary on the debate so far, so I will....

I think that Moderate is asking something ridiculous, give him a second term because he messed up bad in his first term.  He has made some bad policy decisions, has not caused a major event that boosted participation, and has ousted qualified cabinet officials in favor of treasonist idiots.

What do you have on each side?  Well we start with Moderate and the NLC and assorted members of the SDP.  What do these people offer?  Well, they hail mostly from the Northeast which at this point could be considered the least active region given its size and inactive although some may argue the Midwest is more inactive.  What have they done?  Well they saw 4 senate seats turn into 1 in the last election, there only win being a member of the party who wholeheartedly supports Jesus.  The party has no thread anywhere near the front page discussing their policy ideas, support for candidates, or just plain stirring up something.  All they keep doing is jamming this idea down your throat that if you eliminate regional senate seats, suddenly droves of people are going to come.

We got rid of the districts, did this bring in new people?  Sure, it did.  But most of these new people have nothing to do with Moderate or the NLC.  Where are these people coming from?  The members that have joined since the last presidential election belong almost exclusively to two parties, the RPP and the JCP.  What do those parties have in common?  They are both responsible for the two most active regions (one literally brought back from the dead) and they both support Jesus for president.  The RPP has existed from a little over a month now and the party is the 2nd largest in Atlasia.  It holds two senate seats and quite possibly could hold a monopoly on positions in the Dirty South following the October election.  The JCP has started a recruiting drive of their own and runs the incredibly active Pacific legislature, run by Gov. Jesus himself.

These are two parties with what would seem opposing ideologies, but they have come together on this presidential ticket.  Why?  The answer is simple, because this election gives us a choice of two paths.  One of the same old, same old on the federal level.  Appointments of inadequet officials to positions, complaining about how nothing gets done, and most of all nothing getting done.  The other is quite different.  You have a ticket comprised of two people who belong to parties who get the job done.  Without myself, SPC, Duke, and PiT, the Dirty South would most likely continue to have elections with one person voting.  Without Jesus, the Pacific probably would not even be a region.

So now you get the choice, you can decide to send Moderate, Al, Trondheim and the other complainers back to run the show, or you can choose candidates who actually have gotten something done.  This statement is bold, but that is what this election is all about.  Its time to take Atlasia back, and Jesus is just the one to do it.

It will be interesting to see how the numbers change in this upcoming election. We've had close to 20 people register since the last presidential election.

I didn't replace anyone in my cabinet with you, did I?

The JCP has started a recruiting drive of their own and runs the incredibly active Pacific legislature, run by Gov. Jesus himself.

I can't wait for all those JCP members to start participating by casting a bullet vote for Jesus and then disappearing into the ether until they're needed again four months later.  Surely, that's the kind of energy and participation that Atlasia needs.

There's no proof of that, the same thing was said about RPP members like Daniel Adams, Smid, dead0man, Ronnie, etc. who are either regional chairs or running for regional positions

It's the same deal as the Southeast. You have a class of citizens who are extremely active & a class of citizens who never appear at all.

In what terms is the Pacific government extremely active?

It goes through periods of inactivity like the rest of Atlasia, though it does have certain citizens who regularly participate in the legislature. Wink
