The Dark Knight. I've never seen it, but at least it isn't super-trite trash, unlike Titanic.

Yeah, I demand an organization thread to explain why these movies were picked, how the brackets were organized etc!

movies were picked, for the most part, by nominations. what i was really looking for was movies getting more than one nomination. if a movie got more than one nomination, it should be in the contest. if a movie only got one nomination, it still might have made the cut but it had a good chance of not getting in. sorry. but no need for the contest to have too many movies that are unknown to the masses.  i think i made it so at least one movie from everyone's nomination list got in the contest. personally, i think there is a good mix of mainstream and "cult" in this contest. let us see how they fare when pitted against one another. any more questions feel free to ask.

Aizen, buddy, this is a cool idea and I see where you are coming from on all this but you could have at least nominated my namesake. Oh well...

''Titanic'' by a mile.
This was the ''Gone With the Wind'' and ''Ben Hur''of our generation: Grand Hollywood filmmaking at its finest.
