Note: This ad is running in North Carolina.

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=4QH9_jhMOBY&eurl

I like the style of this ad, but I'm confused as to the imagery.  Why select a non-Democrat and a moderate Democrat from two non-competitive [ish] states who are some of the most popular Democrats locally in Congress?  Why not Pelosi and Reid?

The premise is good, Democrats in Congress are quite unpopular and it doesn't hurt the RNC to remind voters that Obama is one of those senators they dislike (so is McCain but politics is funny like that) and try and bring down generic Democrat favorables.

McCain is continuing these "Not Ready to Lead" attacks after picking Palin?

Seriously?

Seriously?

Someone should send him the memo that Barack Obama suddenly gained years of electoral and governmental experience when Palin was picked.

It has nothing to do with experience so I don't see the problem.

The line is "Ready to tax, ready to spend, not ready to lead" - it's the TYPE of leadership the RNC  is going after.

I didn't do +'s and -'s on the letters because this ad doesn't seem too serious, although it's running in 14 states so it has a little bit of financial umpf behind it.

That's harsh!

I guess tax & spend is a little generic, but the Republicans are trying to do some damage to the opposing brand.

Yeah, it's painfully obvious the Republicans don't care about deficits. Who are they trying to fool? This ad gets an F from me

Americans aren't going to be fooled by these Republican scare tactics anymore. The Republicans have proven to be just as good at spending money as Democrats, and they've made the deficit greater under Bush than it was when he took office. Further, Americans agree with much of the "scary spending" the Democrats are proposing, from expanding healthcare coverage to investing in alternate energy.

I guess they decided putting in Kennedy would be in bad taste.
