The only candidates in this round are Martin Van Buren & William McKinley. As usual, you vote for the president you want kicked off.

I voted Van Buren last round, but upon further thought, McKinley was too much of an imperialist for my taste.

So, I vote to oust William McKinley.

Van Buren's facial hair alone should save him!

Does McKinley deserve the imperialist rap?

Does McKinley deserve the imperialist rap?

No one forced him to take over the Philippines after the Spanish-American war. He could have just left it to Spain. Attempting to set international norms regarding trade with China seems rather presumptuous as well.

He doesn't really deserve the rap he gets, though he was more of an imperialist than a lot of presidents.
