Here's the thing I don't get about these anti-immigration types; they keep losing election after election, and they're only strengthening the pro-immigration reform Democratic party by sending Hispanics their way. Immigration and anti-immigrant fear-mongering just isn't an effective wedge issue for anyone besides Hispanics.

The proposal provided for probation of a business that with "actual knowledge" hired an illegal alien, and an investigation of such a business would require an "written and signed complaint."

This was an effort by major employers to effectively eliminate any state enforcement of laws against hiring illegal aliens.

That is why it was soundly rejected by the people of Arizona.
