McCain is in Pittsburgh today, and I wouldn't even have known about it if I wasn't suffering problems with my sleeping patterns and happened to be watching the morning news right now at 6:25 AM.  He was also here yesterday, and made a couple stops in some places, including a stop at Primanti Bros. but it was kept extremely low key.  In the meantime, his national events schedule is totally bare... I assume they update it per day....  He made another visit in April, but there was no announcement, and most people didn't know until after he came.

But then look at Obama... every event is posted, even small meetings where the candidate won't be present.  If you want to go to an event, you know where to go.

I would like to know when I might be able to go to see McCain, but no luck here, buddy.  Who in the Hell is running this campaign?

Yes, a big part of why Obama is winning right now is because McCain is running a poor campaign

I attended a McCain event back in February or so and the place was jam packed. Maybe this is why Obama isn't leading massively...McCain is making local news in many areas while Obama tends to make more national news.

I'm sure if Obama is making national news he is making the local news as well, wouldn't you think?

Well, yeah, we have talked that til the end of time, what I mean specifically is the lack of coordination in the campaign itself, and the apparent lack of foresight... and the apparent casual attitude they have towards telling people where the candidate is actually going to be.

Could be worse though. Imagine if McCain tried being everything to everyone, and thus made his message into a message so un-focused and vague even Obama's 'HURR AND CHANGE' seems like a coherent agenda in comparision.

Well, that does currently seem to be his campaign strategy.

I swear, McCain is acting like he has a 10,000 dollar budget.  It's not even funny anymore.

As I pointed out about a week ago, the McCain campaign people are deliberately staying away from Republican party volunteers and other Republican candidates.

First off, that doesn't make any sense, and secondly, McCain barely makes local news, because no one knows when or where he will be.  I guess unless you are a Republican insider, of a friend of one (which I am and I don't even know these things) then you are left out.  Also, the official reason for the visit, it turns out, was to speak to the Pittsburgh Tribune-Review editorial staff, which is telling in an of itself, because the PTR is a reliably Center-Right paper.  If he is worried about securing that endorsement, that means trouble.

Obama is leading because he is not running for Bush's 3rd term.

Given his pandering to the far right that's debateable.

Do you have anything to refute that claim with besides 'you people keep bringinging it up so therefore its wrong'?

Yes, though since I don't want to hijack this thread, we could debate this via PM.
