Tough call.  I liked both equally.  McCain's for being logical yet full of hope, and Rudy's for being whitty and sharp.  Both compared/contrasted Bush and Kerry in the way that was needed.  Also, both speeches were full of soundbites which can be used in commercials following the convention.

Jesus, it's not like Bush has never screwed up saying something.

That's true....but everytime Bush screws up saying something, the Democrats do the exact same thing, rub it into the ground so many times until it's overkill.  I'm not saying I agree with the Republicans using the "I voted for it before I voted against it" line, I'm just saying the Democrats do it too, when they get the oppurtunity.

McCain simply doesn't bother me.  He gives a detailed argument and doesn't just spew out sometimes hateful and untrue rhetoric.

As for Rudy, here's what I said about him in another thread:

I lost all respect I ever had for Giuliani last night.  Some of the things he said were far more disgusting that anything that came from the mouth of Bush or Cheney.

On repeated occasions he likened being a Kerry supporter to opposing freedom, supporting terrorism, and opposing democracies around the world.

He also ratted on Kerry to the point of character assassination.  For example (maybe not word-for-word but close to what he said):

'John Edwards needs two americas, so in one, John Kerry can for for something, and another where he can vote against the very same thing.'

When has John Kerry voted for an against the very same bill?  Even Rudy knows that not to be true.

There goes any chance I'll vote for HIM in 2008.

Well, personally I think that Rudy wouldn't have a chance in 2008, since he has enough dirt in his history which could be used to smear him left and right.  As far as the example you posted from last nights speach, it was mostly humor based on Kerry's track record in the Senate.  Throwing out the "I voted for it before voting against it" line, he has taken multiple sides on the same issues in the past.  Be it the war, gay rights, definition of life in the context of abortions, etc.  Like Rudy said, everyone changes their point of views on issues as more information comes forward, but Kerry has done it so often that it's more than just an informational issue . . . unless the information he's basing his views on are drawn from public opinion polls.

Two home runs in my book.  Way better than I had expected.  Giuliani was the best tonight.  Interested in your thoughts.
