If you have nothing intelligent to contribute, please refrain from your very low level personal attacks.

It's  childish, not to mention unAmerican.

Is it still the 1950s?

I still can't believe people talk about this as if it's actually substantive. Why do we even acknowledge this level of discourse?

Its Winfield. Im not surprised at all.

Its unAmerican to voice my opinion about you and this subject? Im sorry I dont wear American flags all up and down my body...but sheesh.

Eh...I used to wear a flag pin...the dry-cleaners lost it...mildly upset about that, but don't wear one anymore.

I don't care what Obama does.

He can't now. He's already come out and said he didn't believe in wearing it. Just imagine how much run the Republicans will have with him giving in to that and equating it with what else he may give in to.

Because he'd be folding under pressure from idiots who equate wearing a pin with loving one's country.

Wearing the flag pin on the lapel is only truly patriotic and meaningful when a Republican chickenhawk does it.

A person could be decked out top to bottom with red white and blue and still not have a patriotic bone in his body.

I doubt wearing some little pin which  the cameras may zoom in on occasion would really help Obama.

OK, I concede, it is not unAmerican.  Attack what I say all you like on the basis of policy differences, however, refrain from personal attacks, that was my point.

No.  It would make him look like a hypocrite.  Why should he wear a flag lapel when he hates America?

What?

Even the most anti Obama partisan Republican would not make that claim.

I think so, but I don't really care, and I don't think it matters too much.

It's up to him whether he does or he doesn't. Why would anyone care though? I know I don't give a flying f**k.

I am bumping up this thread I made on March 21, 2008, asking if Barack Obama should start wearing an American flag lapel pin.

Interestingly enough, Barack started wearing an American flag lapel pin again this week, in Sterling Height, MI, on May 14.

Yeah, I'm upset Obama sold out like that. I thought he was above wearing stupid flag pins. Guess not.

I don't really care whether Obama wears one or not, but does anyone else find the lapel pins to be aesthetically obnoxious? Suits look so much better without them.

I don't really give a damn either way.  The most I will say on this issue is that it won't hurt him if he just follows the herd, whereas not donning an American Flag lapel pin quite possibly could.

Nice to see this transcendent politician gave into pressure. He's been wearing it now in about every appearance I've seen this week. I thought he was a new kind of politician?

In any event, it makes him look like a huge hypocrite and someone who will do anything to get elected.

Well, at least he hasn't flip-flopped from the center to the far-right on every single issue of importance, like some other candidates.

LOL

I guess going on a climate change campaign tour, proclaiming that climate change is real and man made, and creating an "Eco-friendly" campaign store is considered far-right now?

I feel the pain of Obama's ambivalence, really I do. Would I ever wear an American flag pin?  Never! I find it a form of bragging that to me is infra dig.  It is just an aesthetic thing with me, but to each his own.

Own other thing: flag pins on suits reminds me of Nixon. This Pubbie does not like to be reminded of Pubbie felons.

Too bad there's no "who the hell cares" option.

That's the button I immediately looked for.

He's wearing the flag lapel pin given to him by a disabled veteran. The same gotcha politics you're playing could be used against you. Why do you hate disabled vets? This trivial stuff is so inane.
