Yes. Easily. CNN article on this: http://www.cnn.com/2008/POLITICS/04/14/mccain.faith/index.html

I have no problems with it though, it works. But it is interesting that McCain is by far running the most secular campaign.

Of course they are, because the Democrats keep sticking their foot in their mouths when it comes to religion.

Yeah, the Dems seem to be clinging to religion more.  I guess they must be feeling insecure about their jobs.  Wink

Yes, right now at least. They're trying to out heartland each other.

I still recall McCain talking about seeing the face of God in an Arizona sunrise. That was pretty embarrassing.

Yes, they are trying to reach out to them because they see McCain not doing well with them.

I don't think it is that as much as McCain doesn't feel he needs to pander to a group to verify that he is more conservative than Obama or Killary.  On the other hand, Killary and Obama know they can't win without their help, so they have to do all the can to strum up their religious credentials.  Of course, Killary couldn't answer when she had last been to church when asked about it yesterday, and Obama's church history is already tainted and that won't help him much in a general election.

Yes, unfortunately.    I always feared the Democrats would stupidly try to run as God candidates.   Little to do they know that only thing moderates and indendents hate more than born-again bible-banging evangelicals are nutcase bible-banging angry black preachers.   So everytime Obama opens his mouth in Pennsyvania about how he "found God" and how he is a "devout Christian", McCain actually starts to look pretty decent.
