Using violence to free human beings held in slavery...

Setting off bombs to protest a woman's right to choose and homosexuality...

Yeah -- let me think which is worse.
John Brown killed US soliders who were not directly responsible for slavery.  Aside from the Olympics (where I admit Rudolph was nuts) he killed people that were about to commit murder and probably perform countless more.

Nonsense.  Rudolph killed live human beings, some of whom were performing abortions.  Abortions do not claim the lives of living, sentient human beings.  At worst, abortions end potential lives.  I don't claim and never will that the only thing at stake in an abortion is a blob of tissue.  But to pretend that a fetus is as fully human as a person who has been born is both lousy science and fallacious.  According to the law of Moses, it's not even Biblical.  A man who battered a woman and caused her to abortion under Mosaic law received a slap on the wrist -- he had to pay a fine.  A man who battered a woman and killed her under Mosaic law was to forfeit his life.

The right's insistence that fetuses are fully viable, sentient human beings with all the rights and privileges of actually born human beings breaks down dramatically when we talk about punishment.  Unless, of course, you are among those who believe that women who have abortions and the people who perform and assist the procedure should be sentenced to death for murder.

In which case, you are consistent.  But clearly insane.
Well, if sticking up for those who can't stick up for themselves is insane, lock me up in the loony bin
Yes please, I am sure 90% of America agrees with me too. Blowing up women=digusting, nothing noble about it. Not one ounce.

DWTL, please keep saying you support blowing up abortion clinics. Everytime you do you keep more people from joining the anti-choice movement.

This man cut the heads off of poor folks to get the rich folks to give up their slaves.  Even if he had noble intentions he is a HP.

No one said you couldn't stick up for fetuses if that turns you on.  You can't murder human beings out of some misplaced sense of right and wrong or out of some tortured understand of "science" that equates an embryo with a breathing, sentient human being.  You know -- like a receptionist or a nurse.

An insane adventure that cost a lot of lives, of folks to whom he over-promised. I admire his abolitionism, but being a dumb that euchred folks into something akin to a cult wasting  lives in the cause is not to be admired. HP.

Not even mentioning the babies his men threw up and caught with pikes in Kansas.

The people you seem to admire did many of the same actions. It is part of conflict, but of course Brown is still very much a cultist and trying to justify any side's actions in Kansas is wrong.
