Yet Another Campaign Speech Wink

As we near the end of this campaign I would like to take this opportunity to ask once again for the pleasure of receiving your vote. My fellow Atlasians, we are at a crossroads. Our future depends on these next few days and I hope to be a part of it. If you elect me I'll work on ways to recover the economy, create new activity, and will also hold it as my duty to propose legislation and be an active, open listener to all your guys' concerns.

Our economy has slightly recovered over the past few months and I believe we've started on our way to complete prosperity, but we're not there yet. In order to provide a short term, immediate solution the Senate should work on creating, proposing, and researching ways to create new infrastructure programs. Jobs will be created whether its refinishing dams to be more fish friendly on the Columbia river or repaving the damaged highways, bridges, and roadways in the wake of Hurricane Sandy. All will give some of the Atlasians who have been trying to get jobs a fighting chance in these dire economic times while they also make our nation a better place due to the improvements they have on our regional transportation, energy production, or general livelihood. Another stance we can take to end the loss of jobs is to either punish companies preforming outsourcing or to work to limit the process. People in our nation are losing their long time careers and in these economic times we need jobs flowing inward, not out. A slight tax may be the solution and all the money collected from it should go towards the infrastructure mentioned above. Also perhaps a tax cut would be in order for those businesses which return their jobs to America as we need to reward them for rebuilding the long lost American dream of owning your own home, car, and general livelihood. Idea I'd love to implement would be something along the lines of the Pacific Incentives Hiring Act on a national scale.(Seen here:https://uselectionatlas.org/AFEWIKI/index.php/Pacific_Hiring_Incentives_Act ) It was put into effect by Senator Oakvale and I hope to work with him on the prospects of this idea.

During my time as the Governor of the Pacific Wolfentoad and I have worked together to create countless opportunities for an increase in activity. The Pacific Council is getting of the ground again and we, for the 1st time in a long time, have an active regional level government. I hope to use similar ideas on a national scale and will attempt to recruit players regardless of their political affiliation. The more the merrier I say! Besides, the diversity of political views is something that really makes this game shine and that's something I hope to continue if I have the honor of being elected by you all.

When I joined this game in August I thought it was intriguing but believed that I'd soon fade into an inactive, ghost player. I soon however, realized that wasn't possible. I've enjoyed my time here and have always tried to be active for both the office's sake as well as the sake of those who elected me. If you elect me to the Senate I will hold it my duty there to follow these same principles. We cannot have Senators expelled for inactivity, that's unacceptable. I understand there are personal reasons for being separate and I'm OK with that but leaving for months on end, while still holding office, is rude to those who voted for you in the previous election as well as those who are your constituents all together. It will be my duty and honor to listen to your questions, comment, and concerns if I'm elected because, in large part, I am representing every poster here (if I'm an At-Large Senator). I will work with other party leaders and members and will try to get something the majority of the citizens here approve of. I know it may not be easy at times but the best minds (even if they have different political views) will assist each other in creating ideas that could change our nation for the better and make this places better for the next generation and all of the generations to come. I do hold my own beliefs but I do know that the need to compromise and work together must always be present as a way to build bridges between people feuding and to also prevent completely disunity and partisanship which ruins the game for many people.

I thank you for reading yet another speech of mine and I hope, as stated earlier, to have convinced you to join my campaign. I would be truly enamored to have your support as well as your vote. These are crucial times for Atlasia and I can assure you I will work on creating a better and more involved game for many of the voters here. I thank you for your time and appreciate hearing your questions about myself, my plans, and my candidacy over the next coming days.

   Sincerely,
   Pacific Gov. Spamage

P.S. I didn't see the questions you all posted so I have begun forming a response to them. I want to be detailed Smiley

You fought very hard to get this and I know it means a lot to you; congratulations are certainly in order to you and all of our new senators! I cannot wait to work with them. Smiley

EDIT: I will note that I am saddened to discover that in my absence I missed voting by just a few hours.

Today the Senate election has finished and by a narrow margin I have been elected. I must first of all thank all of you for your support in this extremely close election, it is greatly appreciated and for it I am very thankful. Without you all none of this would be possible. I would also like to thank Tmthforu94 and Wolfentoad, their support helped me get through this campaign at times when it felt I would not make it. And lastly, I'd like to thank the TPP, Federalists, Liberal, and Labor parties. Without their support I also might have lost. I must also congratulate Hagrid, Barnes, Franzl, and Mr X. together we will change the future of this nation for the better.

As we settle down from election season we are now beginning to forge ahead into a new period. We must get back to work and make Atlasia a better place. I am excited to work with my fellow Senator's Elect and I hope that together we all can make this nation even more prosperous and enjoyable for all. Atlasia is one of a kind and that is something everyone must truly respect.

I cannot call this election a wash by any means. It was close and because of that all of us need to now begin acting with bipartisanship. Its been spoken by many but now is the time for action, compromise, and improvement. I look forward to these coming months and also getting to know my fellow senators a bit better. Negotiating may seem hard at times but I hope with determination we can make it possible regardless.

Once again thank you for voting for and supporting me through the ups and downs of this election. It was interesting to say the least and now we can move forward, healing our wounds of a close election by getting back to work.

Thanks,
      Senator-elect Spamage

Very humbling speech. Congrats on your win. It'll be nice having more Federalists around Nyman. Wink
