Mcconnell gives the speech a thumbs 👎 while most voters give Biden speech thumbs up👍

The hypocrisy is off the charts on this one.

Quote
saying it was a "rant," "incoherent," "incorrect," "beneath his office" and "unbecoming of a President of the United States."

The only time I listen to McConnell is when he talks bad about Trump.

Considering that objectively those adjectives best apply to Trump, I agree.
Still, it's not like we didn't know McConnell was a hypocrite: or did you forget the differences between Garland's confirmation (oh wait, it didn't happen) and Barrett's (just one month before the election)?
Honestly, nothing to see here: just partisan McConnell being partisan McConnell.

I pretty sure McConnell was personally a Never-Trumper, but he knew he would get primaried for being anti-Trump in KY if he said anything

Did he just imply African-Americans aren't Americans?
Major gaffe, but the truly sad part is it won't hurt him one bit with the base (might even help, who knows), while criticizing an insurrection hurts him a lot with the base.

No, you idiots, he means that African-Americans are voting in just as high percentage as Americans.

McConnell obviously meant that Black voters turnout at just as high rates as White voters (which is true, btw.)

Democrats need the narrative that Republican governors and legislatures are suppressing the votes of POC folx in order to preemptively delegitimize the shellacking that's probably coming for them later this year.  The reality is that more Americans are voting now than ever before and the GOP has been winning high-turnout contests (i.e., VA-GOV.)

That is the problem. He meant 'black voters' and 'white voters'. And to convey that, he said "African-American" and "American". Your party - among much other vileness - is a pack of racist bigots. When you identify yourself as a Republican, you identify yourself as a racist.

Yes, that's usually called a Freudian slip.

Not necessarily. McConnell's mistake is kind of understandable (in the sense that we know he's not actually saying blacks aren't Americans, but it came out that way) but it's a pretty major gaffe nonetheless (much bigger than any of the ones the GOP attacks Biden on).

I mean THG is the one who a few days back questioned if Hakeem Jeffries accidentally saying 'Hugo Chavez' instead of 'Cesar Chavez' was a 'freudian slip', so both sides are guilty of making big gaffes and then making a big deal out of it when the other side does too.
