Is it a neighbouring state bonus, anti-Obama sentiment, or related to Bill at all?

Low black population relative to other southern states like SC. Remember, in the South Obama doesn't do so well with the white vote

Makes sense to me. Plus, all the Clintons have been here, Obama hasn't in a while. I can't see that he's worked hard to get out the Memphis vote. If he faught for it, Obama could win middle Tennessee.

Bredesen, the only statewide elected Dem, hasn't endorsed. Jim Cooper, my Rep, endorsed Obama (interesting article on realclearpolitics.com about the animosity between Cooper and Clinton) but the Memphis congressman, Steve Cohen, (a Jewish guy who represents an African American district) just endorsed in the last few days. A few pretty prominent African American women are for Clinton.

Sub 20% black populations in the South are a killer for Obama, since moderate Democrats (who live in states without greater bourgeosie populations - see Georgia) are unlikely to vote for a black.

Al went over this in detail in his thread, I see no reason to go further...

Obama does well with white males, just not white females. Also TN has alot of "Old Democrats" who like toward Clinton.
