I know people will mention this so I'll address this right off the bat - No, I am not mocking MLK by saying "I had a dream..." I actually did have a dream that revolved around politics. This doesn't happen often. The only other dream I had like this was concerning the 2004 election.

Anyway, my dream was about the 2008 General election. It was as if it was happening right now - late January 2008 - because I remember thinking to myself during the dream, "We're voting already? How?"

So the primaries suddenly ended and we ended up with McCain vs. Hillary. Here's where it gets a bit weird. I remember asking someone who McCain's running mate was and they said "Kirsten Gillibrand." The only thing is that she is a freshman member of the House from New York...and a Democrat. Whoever told me this in my dream referred to her as "the obscure Governor of..." who took office often someone was appointed to something. Like I said, this was the weird part.

But the dream really began with the results coming in. I remember hearing the results but couldn't actually access the numbers. The night started with McCain taking Connecticut and even though that was one victory, the celebration was in full swing.

The dream ended when I got to see a map of the country but I could only understand certain areas. The areas I remember: McCain had won Conneticut, Oregon and Washington (state) while he struggled in the south. He just barely won Arkansas.

And that was the end. Just thought I'd shame.  Smiley

I had a dream of a Thompson vs. Biden race, only we chose the nominees the day of the general election at around noon... and both conventions were in my high school gym.

Norm Coleman lost his Senate seat too.

Kirsten is cute and young and fresh, a nice counterpoint to McCain!

I also had a rather odd dream. For some reason it involved General David Petraeus as a California State Senator.

Actually I had the same dream a few months ago, also with the map on election night and Colorado the only state where the vote count was still under way. I saw the name Hillary Clinton and 264 Electoral votes next to her, but I couldnīt see who the Republican opponent was, because I woke up immediately afterwards. Weird.
