Please, I want a serious discussion. There are trolls from both sides on this forum, so behave and lets have a civic discussion Smiley

IMHO these crowrds can not be ignored. 25.000... 20.00... 15.000. Everywhere Kerry goes there are huge crowds at the rallies. Even in th red states. Is it a sign the tide has finally turned?

I have no idea.  Don't all presidential candidates draw big crowds?  How do Kerry's crowds compare with Bush's or Gore's?

Well... check the paper reports. I read the other day somewhere that these are "final week crowds" and not late July-early August crowds.

Plus, I don't think Bush's crowds are as big as Kerry's Smiley

The democratic and liberal base is very energized, that simple.

You don't have to sign a loyalty oath to get into a Kerry rally.

That's roughly what I was going to say.

I saw Bush fill some stadium in Ohio recently.  This is just a very polarized, electrified country.

Both McGovern and Mondale drew large crowds.  Politcal rallies are mostly a function of organization and the work of the advance teams.

I was told that in 1992 then president Bush  drew a huge crowd in NJ few days before the elections and he lost NJ and the general election

I've seen plenty of campaign videos and seen news footage and the crowds I've seen from the Bush campaign are just as large.  To name a few packed houses (and these are full-fledged arenas!!): Phoenix, Reno, Green Bay, Orlando, Pensacola, Cincinnati, suburban St. Louis, Grand Rapids, Pittsburgh, and so forth.  Not to mention dozens of military bases.  Check out the latest news photos on Yahoo! or visit GeorgeWBush.com and watch the latest videos in the news room.  I wouldn't doubt that Kerry is drawing big crowds though either.  This is just a very energized campaign, both parties are united behind their candidate, and people realize the stakes in this election.
