I would say if Obama wins NH and SC and following polls show him passing Clinton in CA, we may add Obama vs. McCain (?) polls ...

I am ignoring the "putting polls in" system until nominees are decided.  Sorry, Dave.

Ditto, although I am keeping an Excel sheet for the likely races for myself.  Maybe I can be arsed to upload it one of these days.

How exactly are we going to deal with the polls if (or increasingly when) it becomes official that Clinton and Giuliani aren't going to be the nominees?  Is there some way to delete those comparisons from the chart/map or perhaps re-enter them with the appropriate candidates?

Why should they be deleted ? The average for the map will be calculated by the last 3 polls only. So polls from January 2008 won´t matter when tons of polls are entered in September, October etc.

Why not just add all General election matchups....whether Clinton vs. Giuliani or McCain vs. Obama?

Software doesn't allow for that

clinton makes sense...giuliani doesn't. He's not the frontrunner and hasn't been for several months now. He's now probably in 3rd place overall behind McCain and Huckabee.

I'd say we should just put a halt on entering GE polls until after the nominations have been clinched.  Its pretty clear its not going to be Giuliani but the GOP side is still very volatile so its not really clear who will be the nominee.  McCain is the current flavor of the week in all the polls but that could change quickly depending on how things pan out in Michigan and South Carolina.
