Defense Secretary Gates wants 3,000 more troops to Afghanistan

I heard this on CNN earlier this evening, that NATO commanders on the ground in Afghanistan are requesting an additional 3,000 troops to Afghanistan to combat the growing Taliban threat.

I actually will support this surge.  We needed to put our troops there in the first place, and I just hope its not too little too late.

I'd support this surge too.  Add 47,000 to the number Gates is seeking, and then we'd be talking.  Unfortunately, we'll have to scrape and scrounge for the three thousand.  They are busy in Iraq.
