In a wrong way Andrew Johnson. His views were formed early in his youth and he was unwilling to evolve in face of changing times or ever consider opposite viewpoints. Surely there were good sides of his personality, like unconditional sticking with the Union no matter what, but he lacked political flexibility to get things done as President.

In a good way Harry Truman. He had an ability to make a decision and stick with. But he had an open mind and knew how to maneuver in politics. Also no one can accuse him of not seeking informations and counsel before deciding.

Thoughts?

I don't think stubbornness can be a positive character trait, so I'll go with Taft.

If the only things you can get done are things you don't want done, then flexibility is overrated.  Personally, I think Zachary Taylor is a good choice for most stubborn President.  It would have been interesting to see what would have happened to the Mexican Cession if he had lived.

Andrew Jackson deserves a mention, I guess.

I'm not stating that he was stubborn or anything, but what about LBJ?

Eh... John Adams? Andrew Jackson? John Tyler? Andrew Johnson? Theodore Roosevelt (as suggested above)? Woodrow Wilson? Lyndon Johnson?
