So is the new President her own person or will she be a surrogate "George Wallace's wife" President for her husband to act through?

She will be her own person. Her husband has acted as a surrogate "Christina Fernandez' husband" President for four years, though. Notice that he was not term-limited but could have run again.

LOL
I can definitely see voters in Virginia/Maine/wherever going "well, I didn't think that we were ready for a woman President and especially one who was already involved in a previous administration, but now that I see Fernandez has won in Argentina..."
