I've been to Detroit, and parts of it don't seem very safe. But Baghdad...probably more dangerous in an order of magnitude.

Vague question. Baghdad has so much more history and culture. Obviously, Detroit, with its problems, is a safer place to be be right now. Guess it depends what you mean by better.
