Aside from the unfortunate resemblance to a widely recognised symbol of hatred and murder, putting together four L-shaped buildings is a reasonably functional design. It just so happens that putting them together in exactly that way is offensive. I suppose conspiracy theorists could ramble on for hours about the Navy "intentionally" designed this structure to resemble a swastika, but fixing the mistake really shouldn't be that difficult and time-consuming. Just connect the ends of the L-shaped buildings together or something.

But why should the ordinary taxpayer pick up the tab for fixing it?  I sure as hell don't care if some people find this unfortunate coincidence to be offensive, and yet a fraction of my tax dollars are going to pay for the redevelopments anyway.
