Um, how about all the other people who fought the Nazis?  The Russian guys basically had absolutely nothing to lose, since running away meant getting shot too.

I'm generally referring to the populations of Nazi-occupied areas such as Germany and France and etc who formed ragtag guerrilla outfits.

HP. Nazism is bad but it's far less bad than soviet communism .tHe commies may not have targeted people for death by their ethnic group but the nazis were otherwise less fond of mass killings for no reason than the soviets.
