Who here is thinks her speech was jumbled and not very focused?  Listening to her talk, she's jumping all over the place without any continuity.

Almost 11 pm in EST zone.

Not a lot of viewers.

Truly brutal, and suffers in comparison to Obama as well.

So much to the "all powerful" Theresa.  Someone should have scripted/edited her speech for her.  Zzzzzzzz

You'd have trouble making a coherent speech too if your IQ was about 93 (even though she thinks she's a genius) and English was your third or fourth language...LOL

No, she is clearly fluent in English, so that's not an excuse.  Don't know about her IQ.  Just a poor speech writer/giver.

I'm turning to Seinfeld at 11, I know that much!

I think Elizabeth Edwards is better than her though, from what I hear.

hahaha . . . Brit Hume is already poking fun at some of her wording.  Oh well.

She did have a few decent one-liners, but there was way too much in the "Kerry is perfect" language.  And what was the 5+ minutes on "Women having a voice" topic?  Is she talking about the women in the Middle East???

Mort Kondrake (sp?) caught something I didn't.  Teresa said the best thing that we had (as a nation) was the Peace Corps.  Not necessarily a winning topic while the nation is at war.

Another of commentators (only female on the panel) noted that many of the network stations weren't carrying the full convention this evening, so Teresa may not have been seen.

I liked the quoting of Lincoln's first inaugural.

That was bad........why was she given such a big time slot.  Yes it was not on broadcast, but they could have put her at the very first.

She was given this important role because she WANTED it...and the real truth is that John Kerry can't take a PISS without permission from his wife. This is what happens when you marry an egomaniacal, sub-moronic, billionaire widow.

My favorite quote of her speech:
(I'm working from memory because I can't find a transcript yet)
"America has responsibilities that we must once again fulfil: to reverse global climate change..."

That's the first thing she thinks of when she ponders America's responsibilities?  Global warming?

What happened to "this convention is to introduce John Kerry to the American people"?  Less than half (sometimes less than a quarter) of every speech so far has been about John Kerry, and Teresa's speech was no exception.

Edit:
Now the transcript is out:
"And the truth that we must speak now is that America has responsibilities that it is time for us to accept again.

"With John Kerry as president, global climate change and other threats to the health of our planet will begin to be reversed."

Theresa literally put me to sleep tonight. Elizabeth Edwards will do excellent, however. She is a great speaker.

Her speech showed that most Democrats are still stuck in the 60s and the 70s(Obama was actually pretty good).  Her attempts at equating apartheid with the Bush administration policies are pathetic and rude.  The whole feminist thing at the beginning was a metaphor for abortion on demand.  The womens movement is over save one area: pay equity, which my mom was a victim to.  Unfortunately, the democratic party has no interest in this issue.  Its always abortion on demand and how it is always threatened.  Also her speech allows me to make the solid prediction that Bush will win this election barring any republican convention surprises.  I have realized that the Dems have turned this convention against John Kerry in the strangest way.  Democrats are more interested in hoodwinking America into believing they are patriotic than putting their man in the white house.  If you listen to their speeches, they constantly drone on about how much they care about freedom.

Sorry about the rant that sounds trollish, but I had to return to the boards after a little absence with a vengeance.

She had a lot of good points but she wasn't able to run with any of them or piece them together too well. the result was just everything fell flat.

Of course following Obama didn't help. I think the best analogy I heard was just about anyone following Obama would be like the Monkees following Jimi Hendrix.
