Official voting booth for the Pacific Special Election of August 30-September 2, 2007.

The Pacific Regional Election last weekend resulted in a tie between Alcon and Everett. According to the Pacific Constitution, another election must be held this weekend between the tying candidates to hopefully resolve the tie.

States in the Pacific: Alaska, Arizona, California, Hawaii, Idaho, Nevada, New Mexico, Oregon, Utah, Washington

Voting opens Thursday August 30th at 9:00 PM Pacific Standard Time. Any vote before this time will be invalid. This poll will be open for 72 hours for all citizens of the Pacific region. Please use preferential voting when casting your ballots. The voting booth closes Sunday September 2nd at 9:00 PM Pacific Standard Time. This ballot is subject to change until the voting booth opens. Votes edited after 20 minutes or after the polls have closed but before the election has been certified will not count.

Well, I'm not sure if Wildcard's vote counts. If it does then it is a tie. However, he did give Everett a second preference. So Alcon wins based on preferences.

Well I did remove write-ins from the ballot for a reason. The only candidates were Alcon and Everett. However, I did count your vote. Normally preferences are used to determine a winner when there is a tie. Alcon got more first preferences. There was no way to determine a winner based off preferences during the first election.

Anyone can challenge the election results if they like. I'm not 100% sure... lol

Looks like some more late votes from King County are going to swing the election... Smiley
