I’m sticking with Bhalla, but I could see this going either way.

The question is how will low-information voters vote?

One argument is that low-info voters vote against Menendez because they don't realize it's his Dad that's in trouble, not him (they just see the name Menendez)...

...but some voters may be so low-information that they don't even know about Bob's legal troubles and just blindly check the name they recognize.

But since low-info voters are very unlikely to vote in a primary, maybe this won't matter much anyway. Going with Bhalla by a hair.

I think Menendez ekes it out.

I think Menendez. Not only does the momentum seem to have shifted due to some mini-scandals for Bhalla in the last few weeks, but Menendez has a powerful machine behind him that Bhalla really doesn't have an answer for.

RM has Brian Stack's endorsement, the man behind extraordinarily high GOTVs in Union City (where BM used to be mayor). I'd say slight RM as well.

Lean Menendez, regrettably.

Lean Menendez for reasons I have already stated elsewhere.

It’ll probably be Jersey City and Hoboken for Bhalla vs everywhere else.

One underrated factor is this district is nearly majority Hispanic, and a lot of Hispanics vote based on last name which boosts Menendez around the margins.

Menendez. Turnout has been pretty low.

Yep. Menendez won fairly predictably.

To be fair to him, I don't think he necessarily should be punished for his father's indiscretions. Even though his stubborn defensiveness of his dad is pretty annoying. Maybe 8th district voters kind of thought the same way.

I do wonder how he’ll vote for Senate in the general.
