Same actually. In fact it's why I'm liberal and why I'm Christian.

Some of the stuff that nibbles on the edge of the genre is legit good. (e.g., Zen Arcade)

I was joking with my mom a few weeks ago that that album came out when I was like 6 months old, and since my parents visited Minneapolis frequently they could've taken me to go see them!

She told me that I probably wouldn't have been interested and would've just wanted to sleep.

Never really got into it to be honest, I prefer the class of '77 stuff.

Personally, I like to think of Hardcore as the Punk equivalent of Hi-NRG Disco, which is to say a harder, faster, more underground version of the genre that turned up its most controversial/quintessential aspects (speed and noise for Punk, synthesizers and production gimmicks for Disco). Of course Hi-NRG went overground much quicker in the Disco 80s, but I guess Grunge was sorta like "when Punk broke" in America.

my mom is huge into NYHC. Recently she was pulled on stage at a Murphy's Law show and sang "Sit Home and Rot" with Jimmy Gestapo after she requested the song.

Screw this s**t

Naturally Skate Punk is not included...

Must say that the individual who posted this thread apparently does not appear to have any real background in what perhaps was an extremely influential strain of "Hardcore Punk" up and down the I-5 Corridor.
