If I know anything about Donald Trump, and I do, I have to think he'd find Elon Musk the most aggravating person to deal with. Musk is the rare egomaniac to outdo Trump on that term and believe just as firmly as Trump that the world revolves around him, and he'd probably require Trump to do a LOT of ass-kissing for the money.

The last campaign that Elon touched ended up dying immediately.

It would make sense. The only thing Donald can drive is a golf cart, and tbey're usually electric.

Tesla stock crashed this week. Maybe Musk should be asking successful billionaire Donald Trump for a cash infusion.

He doesn't want the money for the campaign, he wants it for himself. Elon Musk deserved to get scammed out of every dollar Trump asks for.

It makes perfect sense that one right-wing sociopath would support another.

Musk says he will not donate to any presidential candidate.

Makes sense for a variety of reasons. I doubt Musk and Trump like each other at all and frankly Musk doesn't have much to gain from backing Trump directly. This is pretty accurate:

Just going to say that not donating to any Presidential candidate isn't, by itself, a denial of the much more important donating to PACs. Trump would be much more interested in Musk sending $3 million to his SuperPAC than $3,000 to his campaign, which is what "donating" technically means. Musk can be weaselly here and hide what he means.

We'll have to wait and see.

On the surface it is pathetic, if you scrutinize a bit more it's terrifying!

Imagine Musk essentially buying Trump-bailing out his campaign in return for favorable policies in the event of his second administration.

Thanks again, Roberts court!

If Musk can get him to 180 on electric vehicles and climate change in general, I see this as a good thing. I won't hold my breath though.

But the "liberal" New York Times told me that Musk's politics are hard to define and it's wrong to call him a Republican.
