I don't think the fact she played an annoying role on a show will hurt.  I do think the fact that she is fairly well known around here for her involvement in cancer awareness programs it does help bridge the gap a bit.  Also the fact that she will likely be able to raise the $$, she will be able to be heard for her views on the issues and not just for her shrilly voice on the show. 

First and foremost I want to see Mejias run again, but I do think Drescher can be a credible challenger as well.

Thank you.  Media perception is powerful stuff, and to think that this would be a King v. Drescher race (rather than a King v. "Hollyweird" or King v. "The Nanny" race) is delusional.
