Has there ever been two generations of the same family in Congress at the same time?

I don't know, but if there was, I'm sure it would have been in one of the earlier bodies of Congress.

Ted Kennedy and Pat Kennedy.

One in the Senate, one in the House currently.

I thought the Adamses were a lock, but apparently Charles Frances Adams, Sr. didn't enter Congress until 1858, 10 years after his father's (John Quincy Adams) death.

Of course, I forgot about the Kennedy clan.

I know she's not in the Congress, but Maria Shriver (another Kennedy) is the first lady of California.

In the Oregon Legislature (Which is clearly not Congress) Larry George serves in a neighboring State Senate district to his father's.  Particularly interesting is that Larry George beat State Senator Charles Starr in the GOP Primary in 2006.  Starr served in a neighboring district with his own son Bruce Starr, who despite his father's defeat is presently serving with the Georges in the State Senate.
