Great food, hot women, good arthouse film scene, good architecture, what's not to like?

Was Italy ever a "military power"? They lost a war to Ethiopia and performed terribly in WWII having to get bailed out by the Germans all the time.

during most of the Empire, their army was filled with mostly non-Romans.  They were (generally) bad asses during the Republic though (they didn't always preform well, but they had a seemingly endless supply of men to just raise another Army with allowing them to keep going after disastrous defeats that would have ended the people they were facing).  Even more over powering during the Kingdom, but they were mostly fighting other Italians then.

Travelling throughout Italy is fun and interesting throughout  my two week stay . A lot to see and do but unfortunately cannot be done due to time constraints. It will be interesting to have a second visit
