Giuliani may be leading but I think in the end it will be McCain. It's his "turn" and the GOP always gives those who've waited a chance.

Primaries will be between Giuliani and Romney. Giuliani will be the McCain of 2000, Romney the Bush...

Rudy Giuliani if I had to bet on it (although I'm not completely ready to write off McCain just yet).

I'd probably say Giuliani, though I think that there's a strong likelyhood that Huckabee or Brownback might win it.

Mitt Romney. I don't think the conservative base of the Republican Party are going to accept McCain or Guiliani as their nominee. I think the the CPAC's straw poll shows that Romney can win over conservatives, and that is what it is going to come down to as far the Republican primaries next year, IMO.

I think it'll come down to a fight between Romney and Huckabee.  Although "mayor of New York" may actually hold more responsibility than 'governor of Texas", I just don't see Guilliani getting past that.    Huckabee will probably get most of the support of the RR crowd, while if he plays his cards right Romney may benefit from the backlash against Bush and the RR's influence on the party.

McCain will come across as too Bob Dole like.

Overall, I think Huckabee ends up taking the nom.

At the moment, Giuliani. But we're still 10 months from Iowa.

Of the big three, the one I want to win is Romney since he'll be the easier to defeat. He's a phoney; thus, all being well this will be enough to deceive GOP primary voters into winning the nomination but enough for him to fall well short come the November

As to who I think will win?

This far out, anything can happen. A more genuine social conservative, who has a chance of winning come the November, like Huckabee, might throw their hat in and set the campaign alight yet
