I must say that I am somewhat saddened to have received the following PM:

If you spoil your ballot I will vote for you for senate.

If you don't, I will vote for Conan.

So you gain a net of one (1) vote by accepting this offer.  If you don't think you need the extra vote, don't accept.

Needless to say, I shall be declining the offer.  Electioneering is one thing.  Even an pre-election offer of a quid pro quo, while it would have been rejected, would not have drawn my opprobrium.  But to offer a vote in exchange for a deliberate spoiling of the ballot, that I cannot deem acceptable.

You are surprised by Tweed's actions?  He's always pulling crap like that.

I merely said I was saddened, not surprised.

I don't see how this is really surprising.

*Hacks look a thread with glee after seeing the words "perfidious offer"*

*After finding out what said offer is and who made it, hacks roll collective eyes, leave thread, get drunk*

It's true to say that Boss Tweed's behavior has always been close to that of his namesake.  I doubt he even thinks there was anything wrong with this.

Considering that 51 out of 79 possible voters have voted, there aren't too many more dead red avatar voters that Tweed can contact I would imagine.

By my count:  Adam, Cheesewhiz, ChuckHagel08, Conan, DanielX, Dean, Dr. Cynic, DWPerry, Emsworth, Fritz, Gabu, GM3PRP, hughento, ian, James S., jerusalemcar5, Joel, Kevin, Keystone Phil, MAS117, platypeanArchcow, Polnut, Rin-chan, TCash101, TheWildCard, Virginian87, WMS and myself have not voted.

I still am planning to vote NOTA, but I may change my mind.

Out of those I'm expecting hugh, Phil, MAS, Gabu, Rin-Chan, and TCash along with yourself to vote. WMS has been online lately and most of the other ones are very inactive, with the possible exception maybe of DanielX, Dean and Polnut.

Indeed, if assholishness isn't in our Constitution, perhaps a new one is needed (cough) or my region can have another spat with the rest of Atlasia again, he shouldn't be allowed to live up to his name.

The Third Constitution will never become law.

Senator Wixted is correct, I will be voting later today.

Tweed's been pulling this sh**t for as long as he's been in Atlasia and it's another strike against him in my book.

If you are opposed to assholishness then I suggest you move to the Midwest Cheesy

I'm surprised everyone is getting so riled up about Boss's antics.  This isn't anything new.  I mean, do you all think Boss's votes are coming from people who actually support him instead of people he PMed back to life? Tongue

To be honest, I wouldn't have minded Tweed trying to arrange a quid pro quo before my vote was cast.  But after the vote was cast was just too much.  Besides, it gave me a juicy headline to use. Wink
