At what point does the rejection of extremists who identify as members of x religious or political group become an example of the "no true Scotsman" fallacy? Surely there is a point where this sort of thing becomes gatekeeping to avoid accountability for extremists in the group as opposed to an actual valid rejection of those who do not live up to the ideals of the group in question.

Many "Christians" have extremist views.
Not all evangelicals are fundamentalists and not all evangelicals are Trumpers.
I, for one, do not respect extremist views.
